
Professor Ken Gonzales-Day, the 麻豆区 Fletcher Jones Chair in Art, was recently appointed to the board of directors at the (MKFA). The organization seeks to preserve its namesake鈥檚 legacy and extend the spirit of his artistry by fostering 鈥渃ritical thinking, risk taking, and provocation in the arts.鈥 Gonzales-Day after having previously served on the 2024 selection committee for the MKFA Organizational Support Grants.
鈥淭he foundation is thrilled to welcome Ken to the board,鈥 Chair of the Board Edward Rada said in an interview with LA Downtown News, 鈥淸He brings] a profound commitment to the arts and arts education, as well as personal connections to the foundation and its mission. We are fortunate to have [his] expertise and experience as we look towards the future.鈥
Gonzales-Day鈥檚 interdisciplinary work considers the history of photography, the construction of race, and the limits of representational systems.
